Set the Fairtrade standards

The main role of FAIRTAB is to develop and review the Fairtrade standards for tobacco products. These standards are strictly binding for all Fairtrade producers. Besides the producers, everyone involved in the trade or marketing of those certified products has to comply with the high FAIRTAB standards equally (e.g. importers, exporters, licensees).

Support Fairtrade producers

FAIRTAB supports producers in obtaining the Fairtrade certification for their products and helps them in developing solid, fair sales-channels. We work on this locally in Central America, Africa and Asia by offering free trainings and professional guidance and by sharing our huge international network.

Coordinate the global Fairtrade strategy

It is the main focus of FAIRTAB to constantly improve the framework and strategy of our Fairtrade standards. In a rapidly changing global economy the guidelines for an even and fair distribution of trade profits need constant improvement.

Natural desasters like sudden change of climate, food crisis and global recession require our constant awareness. It is our goal to make this world a better place by implementing fair trade on a much wider scale.
